• It’s estimated that 1.7 million women are affected by domestic abuse in 2022 - these are the numbers who reported it.
• Domestic abuse will affect 1 in 4 women in their lifetime.
• Domestic abuse leads to, on average, 2 women being murdered each week.
• In Hull, police respond to over 900 domestic abuse incidents each month.
• 91% of children in families where domestic abuse was happening were exposed to the abuse.
• In 2019-2020, an estimated 10,592 women and 12,710 children lived in refuge accommodation.
