Story

My name is Ellie and I am 7 years old. I have been growing my hair for lots of years and I love my long flowing hair so much and I get really upset when I have to have my hair cut but, i'm going to do something really brave.

Last October my Grandad was diagnosed with cancer, my Mum and Dad explained to me what cancer was and how this might affect my Grandad, they told me that the medicine that would help Grandad might make him feel very poorly for a little while, they also brought be a book called the Hare that lost his hair to try and help me understand. My Grandad was poorly and did lose some of his hair but I understood that it was all to make this nasty cancer go away.

I have decided to have my hair cut off to donate to the Little Princess organisation so that they can use it to make wigs for children that may have lost their own hair from cancer treatment. I also decided i'd like to raise money for a charity by being sponsored to do this. I told my Grandad I was going to do this and I asked him who he would like me to raise money for and he said St Wilfreds Hospice.

I am really lucky to have my Grandad and I love him so much, I know he will be so proud of me so i'd like to raise as much money as possible to make him really proud.
