Please help us raise £20,000 to fund Elliot's SDR rehabilitation
Elliot is a determined, funny, cheeky 4 year old from west Yorkshire.
He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP) Spastic Diplegia when he was just two years old after failing to meet the normal developmental milestones. Cerebral palsy affects his legs, making them painful and stiff. He gets extremely tired even when walking short distances. Day to day basic tasks are very difficult, getting up and down stairs, into the bath, getting dressed etc.
Elliot has to undergo physio exercises everyday which can be quite painful because of the stiffness. At the moment Elliot uses a wheelchair to get to and from school and when he gets tired along with lots of other aids in and around the house.
He has undergone BOTOX injections in his legs numerous times, which does give him some relief but the effects are short lasting.
In May 2018, Elliot received some fantastic news. After a range of tests, the doctors at Leeds general infirmary offered Elliot the chance of life-changing surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR). SDR is the only surgical procedure that will permanently reduce or eliminate the tightness that causes Elliot to stumble and fall on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, SDR is an extremely expensive procedure the NHS have agreed to fund Elliot's surgery but this is only half of the battle to give Elliot the best possible chance. we need to raise money to fund Elliot's post op rehabilitation.
Please give a special little boy a chance to run and play with his friends.
