Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may be aware our son Elliot was born 8 weeks premature on the 5/3/18 weighing 4lb 3oz. As well as being premature he was also born with a rare condition called TAR Syndrome. He was cared for on the Special Care Baby Unit at the RVI in Newcastle and on two occasions saved his life.
Tiny Lives is a charity that is run on the Special Care Unit and is funded by donations. They provide services such as Physiotherapy, Phycology, car parking, accommodation, development aids, memory boxes, social worker, research grants and many more.
Not only did Tiny Lives help care for Elliot in many ways but they also helped myself and Nicola emotionally and financially. They kindly donated a car parking pass for the full 8 weeks, which was one less thing for us to worry about finding that space every time we were at the hospital. We also seen the psychologist that is funded by the Tiny Lives Charity and that was very helpful in coming to terms with Elliot being premature and his TAR Syndrome that we were unaware off upon his arrival.
With Elliot's TAR Syndrome he needed daily physio from when he was first born, this was on his hands, wrists and arms to help out with future surgery and again these physiotherapist's are funded by Tiny Lives. The physio working with Elliot has been fantastic and would even take splints home and adapt them in her own time to help Elliot.
Unfortunately the NHS can not provide all of these services and it would be great if I could raise a little bit of money for Tiny Lives. This would help go towards providing other families with similar support we have received and give something back to such a great charity.
We cannot thank the Nurses and Doctors enough at the Special Care Unit for what they have done for Elliot. This is myself and Nicola's way of saying THANK YOU to these wonderful nurse and all the Tiny Lives services and their amazing staff. We will never forget the help we received and will always be grateful and hope to take Elliot back one day so he can see just how amazing these people are.
