Story
Hi everyone,
My name is Ellis and for the past 3 years I have been growing my hair so that I can donate it to someone who has sadly lost theirs due to illness.
I started this journey back in November 2018 (my 13th birthday) after a family member had been diagnosed with cancer.
There have been numerous bad hair days - hair
gel, hair spray, hair mousse – alice bands, head bands, hair bands – top knots, pony tails, in fact anything to keep hair out of my face. I’ve experienced some pretty strange reactions and behaviours from people – purely for being a boy with long hair - and I’m not even going to mention what school life has been like at times!
September 2021 is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month so it
feels an appropriate time to part with my locks. On Sunday 26th September 2021 I will be cutting off my pony tail and then completely shaving my head. I will be donating my ponytail to the ‘Little
Princess Trust’ so they can use my hair to help make a wig for another young person who has lost theirs to illness.
You can find out more about their amazing work here https://www.littleprincesses.org.uk
I would also like to raise as much money as possible to help
fight this dreadful disease and my chosen charity is ‘Young Lives Vs Cancer’ https://www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk
One of my hobbies is streaming on Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/ellisdevs/
All money that I have earned from
streaming so far has been saved and is showing in my total as the first donation. I will also be doing a twelve hour charity fundraising stream on Sunday 19th September 2021 where I hope to be joined by some special guests and also raise more money for young lives vs cancer.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, I am very
grateful. No donation is too small.
Ellis xx
