Story

With your help we’re raising money to give our Emergency Department some TLC.  With an average of 55,000 people coming into our Emergency Department a year there are areas in need of improvement including;

The Paediatric Resuscitation Area

Sadly at times, extremely poorly children need resuscitating. This is an extremely difficult time for staff, family, loved ones and of course the patient themselves. In order to make this extremely frightening time less distressing, things we can look at investing in are sensory equipment once the emergency treatment has finished.  This will create a calm and peaceful environment at an extremely difficult time.

Bereavement Facilities

There are times that sadly families experience the loss of a loved one in the Emergency Department, and it’s our job to ensure we look after them whilst they are facing this loss. It is vitally important that the family has a quiet and peaceful place to go to be near their loved one.

A bereavement area would allow that time for families to be together at this extremely difficult time, the fund will allow the department to purchase furniture and other items for the bereavement suite to create the best environment possible.
