Story
I have set up this page to try and raise money for a charity called Bloodwise, which is a charity that work, help and support patients with Lymphoma and Leukemia.
Here is my story...
After a constant cough over the summer and several trips to the doctors, in October a small lump appeared on my neck which then grew in size over weeks, accompanied by a smaller one underneath.
The doctors picked this up in an appointment in December, before being fast-tracked to hospital for a biopsy and scan to have a closer look.
It was then after several hospital appointments and tests and scans that we learnt that unfortunately i had a form of blood cancer called ‘Hodgkin Lymphoma’ and results and tests were confirmed in early January, before finding out the treatment would be 6 months of chemotherapy.
The cancer i was diagnosed with is a well treatable one and has a high percentage rate of beating it.
However, blood cancer in its self is the third biggest killer of cancer in the UK and the fifth common form of cancer.
I begin chemotherapy in early February and can not thank the nurses and doctors enough for their support in and out of the hospital in the journey so far.
I have just set this page up to hopefully try and raise some money for the charity that work closely with people like myself and people in similar situations with different forms of blood cancer.
I am also hosting a fundraising event for this charity in March/April... more news will be announced on this in due course.
Thank you.
