I am raising money for Mesothelioma UK Charity as I hope that in doing so, I can help to raise awareness of this disease.  

The Charity works to provide specialist information, support and education as well as improving care and treatment for patients and their families. 

What is even more important is the awareness of this disease. I had never heard of it before recently and expect I am not alone. But it is caused by quite a common substance and one you will probably know if you've had contact with.

Mesothelioma is caused by the exposure to asbestos. It is a asbestos-related cancer.

If you, or someone you know has had exposure to asbestos without proper PPE, it would the wisest thing you could do, to have yourself checked.

Unfortunately the symptoms can easily be passed off as old age or just feeling under the weather but even then, it could be at quite a late stage. Therefore the aim needs to be, get checked, BEFORE you even notice a symptom. 

If you are able to donate, that is so kind and brilliant but what would be more brilliant is to tell someone else, pass on the information, shout it from your rooftop. Tell anyone you know who could have worked with this substance.
