Story
If you've landed here via World Snooker's social media channels, or if you're one of those Facebook friends that can't exactly remember how or where it is we know each other from, allow me to explain what exactly it is you've stumbled upon...
I'm taking on the challenge of cycling solo from London to Sheffield ahead of the Betfred World Snooker Championship in April, where I will be working for 3 weeks following. It's all in aid of World Snooker's official charity, Jessie May. They really are a fantastic cause, and before you do anything I urge you to check out their website at http://www.jessiemay.org.uk/ to find out more about the great work they do.
Those of you who know me well will also know how hilariously unfit I am. It's a big personal challenge as well as something I've wanted to 'tick off' for a while now, and it's been a reason to get me in the gym and off the sofa.
Training already in full swing, and I'm aiming to complete the 210-mile journey from the Matchroom Sport offices in Brentwood to the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield in 3 days.
At present, I'm doing this unaided, staying at friends' houses en route to keep costs down. So if you're anywhere roughly alongside the M1, be prepared for a sweaty, lycra-clad twenty-something turning up at your door asking for a puncture repair kit and some tap water.
Aiming for £1000 by the start of April (with the intention of smashing it). So please - family, friends, snooker players, bosses, pets - dig deep and make all the pain worth it.
