Story

Walking the Kilt Walk (Again!) for The Archie Foundation 💙

This year will be my fourth time taking on the Aberdeen Kilt Walk, and once again I’m pulling on my boots (and maybe my kilt!) for a cause that means a lot to me — The Archie Foundation.

Nippon Gases UK has kindly agreed to match every sponsorship we receive! That means every pound you donate goes twice as far in helping Archie continue their amazing work.

I’ve always loved the spirit of the Kilt Walk — the challenge, the community, the kindness. But this year’s walk feels especially personal.

My best friend last June had her baby arrive 10 weeks early. It was a scary and emotional time, and little Lottie spent 7.5 weeks in the NICU at Aberdeen Children's Hospital. During that time, The Archie Foundation was there — offering incredible support, compassion, and practical help when it was needed most. After hearing my friend and her families experience it was made clear who I wanted to walk for this year.

Archie doesn’t just support the medical side of things like buying a variety of specialist equipment that goes way beyond 'core' NHS provision — they support the people going through it all, from the tiniest babies to their anxious mums, dads, and families by offering emotional support and counselling services.

So this year, every step I take is for them, for the hundreds of other families Archie helps every year and their fantastic nurses.

If you can spare anything at all to sponsor me, I’d be hugely grateful. Your support will keep me going through the long miles (and maybe a few rain showers!) and, more importantly, it’ll help The Archie Foundation continue their amazing work.

Thank you so much for reading, for caring, and for supporting a cause close to my heart.
