Story
On March 11th 2020 my nan (Gillian) lost her 2 year battle with terminal cancer. She was the toughest cookie and went through a lot in the last two years, never with a grumble and always with a smile on her face. In September I will be running the Bristol Half Marathon (my first HM) in her memory.
In nans final months St Peter's Hospice provided expert care and support to our family, allowing nan to continue living at home with us, surrounded by love and her family. This is the 2nd time the charity have supported both nan and our family. In 2010 when we lost my grandpa to a long battle with throat cancer, the charity supported nan, enabling her to look after him and also keep him at home until the very end.
St Peter's Hospice is Bristol's ONLY adult hospice caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses. Their commitment is to improve the quality of life of patients while extending care and support to their families and loved ones. All of their care is provided free of charge, but it costs around £20,000 a day to provide that care. The hospice is predominantly funded through fundraising and they have seen a dramatic loss of income due to the covid-19 pandemic.
ANY donation, be that £10 or 1Pence, will go towards the daily funds needed by the charity, so that more families in Bristol can be supported, like mine, at their time of need.
THANK YOU!
