The UNICEF on Campus Leeds society are holding a 24hr fast in aid of UNICEF UK on the 5-6th December at Leeds University. UNICEF is one of the worlds most vital charities that provides life saving support and aid to humanitarian disasters and protects the rights of every child in over 190 countries and territories. For example, UNICEF has provided safer water for nearly 170 million people between 2014-2018 and treated over 3 million children for severe acute malnutrition in humanitarian situations in 2018. The UNICEF on Campus Leeds society would therefore like to continue raising awareness for such a vital organisation through fundraisers like these. Every penny raised is greatly appreciated as it simply costs 11p to vaccinate a child against Tetanus and 14p to vaccinate a child against Polio meaning every donation saves lives.
