Story

Elsie, was a beautiful little girl, full of love, life and kindness.

Shockingly, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour (diffuse pontine glioma) in June 2011, shortly after her 6th birthday. There is no cure for this condition. Elsie responded well to radiotherapy which gave her a new lease of life for the next 6 months. However, her tumour began to grow and spread at the beginning of 2012.

Cancer Research UK funded a clinical trial of a new drug which may have some affect on some types of tumour and Elsie was able to participate in this trial. We felt priviledged to have participated in this trial as we had some hope that it may provide Elsie with some benefit and also it would be helping others faced with similar situations going forward. The trial gave us something really positive to aim towards during a very difficult time.

More money is need to continue the research and we hope that one day a cure can be found for Elsie's condition.
