Story

Hi Everyone,

First and foremost, we want to make clear that ALL donations via this website go to EACH, with absolutely NONE going to the expedition costs. You can be assured that every penny will be going to this wonderful charity.

And so on to the expedition ......

In October 2013, two great friends Tim Titmarsh and Keith Gallois, two ordinary middle-aged family men, are embarking on a three week expedition to trek to Everest Base Camp and onward to the peak of Kala Pathhar. At a height of nearly 18,000ft, we are going to suffer. Apart from the blisters and aching muscles, we will be faced with obvious mountain dangers, particularly acute mountain sickness (apparently 2% of trekkers get cerebal oedema  and need immediate evacuation- yikes).

Keen to support our local hospices, Tim will trek to raise money for the Arthur Rank Hospice, whilst Keith will do so for the East Anglia's Children's Hospice's (EACH). By donating on this page you will be able to support EACH and make Keiths undoubted suffering all the more worth it. If you would rather donate to Arthur Rank Hospice then take a look at www.justgiving.com/ElytoEverestforArthurRank .

Our journey begins now with lots of training. If you fancy watching us suffer then please subscribe to our blog at www.elytoeverest.com .

Of course, if you can donate on this page that would be fantastic. Whether it be a large amount or a few pounds, every bit helps. The first target is £1000, at which point Keiths employer will match that amount £ for £. If you can help now and get us to that £1000, it would be incredible.

Thank you so much,

Keith
