We sponsor kids from the Nairobi slums to support them through their education

Story

Hello,

Thank you for reaching my fundraising page and as you are here, you probably know that I am just about to embark on my biggest challenge to date....

...A 1400 mile solo ski to the South Pole and back in aid of Teach Africa and Cystic Fibrosis.

With temperatures reaching -50 and beyond and a solitary existence for nearly 3 months, this will be the ultimate challenge.

So how do you train for something like this? Well, I am currently hiking and biking across the Uk from Landsend to John O Groats and have other 'training grounds' marked out upon my return.

If you are interested in my progress please look me up on emmakelty.blogspot.com and/or emma tamsin kelty1 on face-book.

I am supporting two charities for this adventure:

A) Teach Africa - becuase through funding secondary education places, girls can educate themselves out of the slums, become role models and see beyond their 25th birthday.

 B) Cystic fibrosis - because its a condition that's so common unyet there isn't a cure - yet. With your donation, it will fund much needed research.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for your donation,

Emma Tamsin Kelty

Teach Africa provides secondary education for kids living in the worst slums of Nairobi. Half of the 13 year old's that leave primary education and go back into the slum will not see their 25th birthday - we take them out of harms way and invest in their secondary education - creating role models.
