Running the Scouse 5K to raise funds for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We are trying to raise money for Clatterbridge cancer care.  So we kindly ask people to donate what they can as everything helps.

Our mum was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and seeing her get through her treatment so bravely and with great strength made me want to try to run a fundraising event for Clatterbridge who provide people with care and treatment for Cancer.

I am running the Scouse 5k around Liverpool City Centre on Sunday 15th October 2017 sporting a beautiful wig (not sure about a moustache).   Couldn't do this alone, someone has to drag me along the course so who better than my youngest brother who happens to be athletic which isn't going to be embarrassing for me!!.  He really only has to walk the course while I run next to him!!

Over the years we've seen cancer affect not only our own family but families of friends and colleagues.

We dedicate our run to our amazing mother Caroline who is an inspiration to us and in memory of our wonderful grandparents who sadly lost their lives to cancer, Bridget and Kevin, Brenda and Joseph.

We will be uploading photos of the day, it's going to be lots of fun and we hope to raise as much as we can.

Thank you to every special person who makes a donation, without it there would never be change because everyone hopes that there is a future without Cancer.  All money donated will take Clatterbridge closer to raising the money towards a new treatment centre for patients to continue to have the best treatment and care.
