St John Ambulance Cymru is the first aid charity for Wales. Our mission is to save lives and enhance the health and wellbeing of Welsh communities. Supported by more than 2,800 volunteers, we deliver frontline services and vital support to our emergency services when they need us most.

Story

60% of St John Wales ambulances are over 10 years old and in need of replacing. The demand on our ambulance services continues to grow year on year

Each ambulance is specifically designed as a multi-purpose vehicle and can operate in a number of roles:

o        As an accident and emergency ambulance

o        As a small mobile social care or first aid unit at events

o        As social care transport in the community for two wheelchair users and their careers or a care bus for six passengers

An ambulance is manned by two volunteers, who undergo extensive training and are equipped to deal with various medical emergencies.
