Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We at EmFest strive to put on an exciting event where we hope to bring a bit of joy to what has been quite a tough couple of years. We hope you'll enjoy all we put on for you at The Royal Oak.

We want to take the time to remember though why it is we are here. In 2015, my big sister Emily took her own life. It was truly heartbreaking. For those who knew Emily, she was the life of the party, she was created, talented and overall a beautiful human. Nicky & I set up EmFest to try and make some good out of the worst thing imaginable.

We love entertaining (ask our parents), so when we brainstormed the first EmFest back in 2016 which was also at the Royal Oak in their function room, we knew this wouldn't be a one time thing. Anyway, here we are 5 years later, after having raised over £40,000 for mental health charities, and we're not planning on stopping any time soon.

Pennies are so 2019, so if you are able to donate anything at all, please feel free to do so here to Mind in Kingston. We've been lucky enough to work with Rianne and the team at MiK for the past few years and we've been truly blown away by them. The work they do in the local community is second to none.

We hope you enjoy the day <3

lotsa love

Beth, Nicky & the EmFest crew
