In memory of our beautiful and courageous mum and wife, Denise, we will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 14^th October.

Our team includes Steve Michael, Paul Michael, Natalie Michael, Ellie Michael, David Michael, David Gavaghan, Helena Klein, Jamie Dann, Mike Norman, Ed, Ben & James Atwell.

Denise was first diagnosed with breast cancer over 5 years ago and after extended treatment, there was a period when we thought she was clear. Unfortunately in summer 2015, the cancer returned in her liver and spine leading to further rounds of chemotherapy. After a long and hard battle, which Denise fought with such dignity and grace, we sadly lost her earlier this year.

Denise never complained and just got on with life, being the wonderful wife, mum, daughter, sister and friend that she always was. Her positive attitude never wavered and she kept us all smiling through even the hardest of times. Having known of our plan to take this on (and despite laughing at the thought of us tackling a 13 mile run!), she was as encouraging and supportive as ever. Anyone who knew Denise would know that her family were always her top priority – so we’ll be pulling together to run in her memory.

All donations will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support; an incredible charity who have helped us immeasurably over the past few years. They aspire to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer by providing specialist health care, information and financial support to those affected. The Macmillan nurses were a pillar of support during Denise’s treatment and their help and unwavering kindness have been invaluable to our family. 

As a cause extremely close to our hearts, any support would be hugely appreciated!
