Dear Family and Friends,

To celebrate my 50th birthday I have decided to run Magna Carta Marathon on 9th April 2022. While selecting the fundraising cause, my thoughts went immediately to Ukraine. But a moment later, I knew i had to support another humanitarian crisis, which has been overshadowed by the news of the unthinkable war. As the whole of Poland is doing an amazing job supporting Ukrainian refugees, I have decided to support the Disasters Emergency Committee Afghanistan Crisis Appeal. 

ActionAid along with other DEC member agencies are on the ground, trying to reach the most vulnerable. More than 8 million people are on the brink of extreme hunger in Afghanistan. Severe drought, years of conflict, and the Covid-19 pandemic have caused a crisis. Children are dying today, and a million more under the age of five are at risk of dying over the next three months. As temperatures drop, and the freezing winter sets in, many lives could be lost if we don't act now. 

Please support my fundraiser to help reach those in urgent need in Afghanistan. With our support, we can help to provide food for children, supply winter kits to help families to stay warm, and protect women and girls. Any donation you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
