Story

Hello friends, family and other fabulous folk!

I am finally kicking that big scary goal's butt!

I remember when I did my first 10km, having NEVER enjoyed running in my youth and finding many excuses to get out of doing the 1500m in PE class, it was a feeling like no other. I ran, in memory of my Grandpa, something which brought on such a wave of emotions when I finally crossed the finish line. Looking around at all the other incredibly strong people who raised money for other important causes, running in memory of a loved one, it truly is so beautiful to see how connected we all are by love, connection and family.

Since then, I haven't looked back. I am a humble 'runner', having a couple of half marathons now under my belt, and writing the goal of running a marathon before I turn 30. Well, the time is upon us, and over a glass or two of wine, with my wonderful friend Jennie, we signed up for the Edinburgh Marathon. Cause, if not now, when?

This time I am running and raising money for Scottish Mountain Rescue. As a lover of the outdoors, and someone that hopes to bag many munros in the years ahead (now I'm back home in Scotland!), you never know when you might need help from these incredible superhero volunteers!

Scottish Mountain Rescue represents 25 Mountain Rescue Teams made up of highly trained volunteers who are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to emergencies and carry out a specialist search and rescue service in the mountains and remote communities in Scotland to keep people safe and help people if and when they get into difficulty.

These volunteers are the foundation of the mountain rescue community. Each MRT and team member saves lives in the Scottish outdoors.

If you are able to support this important work, and me running a bloomin' marathon (eeek!) I'd appreciate a donation. If that is not possible, then I appreciate any and all good wishes! You can follow me along my training journey on the strava link in this page, and I will post updates along the way.

Thank you all for your time and generosity <3
