On 3rd October 2021, I will be running the London Marathon for P3 (People Potential Possibilities). This is a charity whose mission is to improve lives and communities by delivering services for socially excluded and vulnerable people to unlock their potential and open up new possibilities.

As some of you know, I will be running various events through the year in preparation for the final event in October. Running has been therapeutic for me, particularly over the last few years. 

In November 2019 I sadly lost a friend to suicide. He had suffered with mental health issues and had found his addiction issues difficult to manage. At his funeral it was said that he was too kind for this world - nothing truer could be said.  Shortly afterwards, I lost my biological dad to addiction issues. Due to the challenges he was facing, he was homeless at the time and being supported by P3. I will be running in memory of them both. I hope by raising money and support for P3, there will be some positive consequence of something that I've found so difficult to overcome.

In December 2019 I had the pleasure of meeting the P3 Link worker involved in my fathers care. The Link worker was able to offer me comfort by sharing stories about him. She went beyond her day-to-day role to ensure he had the opportunities to live a full and meaningful life; from ensuring he had his glasses prescriptions to helping him to purchase a camera for photography projects he'd wanted to carry out. The link worker made sure that his funeral was personal and meaningful to him. I can't thank them enough for the time, effort, patience and care they have taken.

P3 is a community based charity with the vision that every person has the opportunity to be a full and valued member of a society where social exclusion and isolation no longer exist. I hope that with your help we can raise money to help others out there who are experiencing difficulties and are in need of this support.
