Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Two years ago my mum aged 50 was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition for which there is currently no cure, 1 in 500 people suffer from it. Hearing this news was a huge unexpected shock, and we have no idea how quickly it will progress. Since being diagnosed she has suffered from a lot of pain  and unfortunately although the medication helps they do have side effects. Despite this illness she manages two jobs and supports me, Jamie and Tash through absolutely everything.

In order to raise money I am setting myself the challenge of completing a 125 mile canoe race with 77 portages taking place over Easter weekend. I had a go at this same challenge last year however didn't manage to complete it because of a storm, meaning the final day was cancelled.

Watching my mum go through something like this is really hard so any donations would be hugely appreciated as it could help towards finding the cure for Parkinson's and not only help my mum but everyone else out there who suffers from this horrible illness.
