The Bale Sisters 10 miles for Sands page

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our family along with so many others didn’t get the time we so wanted and needed with our babies. It’s hard to put into words the love, support and compassion we received from Sands. But here is a memory I’ll cherish for life and an insight into what they did for us.
On the 10th December we celebrate the birthday of our beautiful twins Laurie and Will who were both born asleep at 17 weeks, 3 days. On the morning of the scan which revealed both our boys hearts had stopped, I was offered hugs, tea, words of kindness and every item of one wonderful midwife Mary’s lunch box to be of any help. I laughed through the tears and wondered at the humanity and kindness of this midwife. A memorable and incredible Midwife called Maureen helped me to acheive what I thought was the unachievable... she told me I was a mum and my babies needed me to be brave and bring them into the world.
When we met our baby boys for the first time, they rested in a gorgeous Moses basket together holding each other’s hands. Our hearts broke and mended all at the same time. The beautiful basket and tiny knitted baby clothes were perfect for our tiny boys. Sands provided these and referrals for other support such as bereavement counselling and support in funeral arrangements.
Nick and I couldn’t have been prouder of our boys, or more grateful to Sands for seeing us through the hardest time of our lives. I would love to give something back to them alongside my sisters who will be running by my side, just as they’ve been by my side through everything.
