Story

Hello everyone I’m raising money for CALM: I will be running The Brighton marathon on September 12th 2021! I am about to start my training in two weeks time!

I will be running 🏃‍♀️ 26.2 miles !!! I’m doing this for my family and patients and CALM 🏃‍♀️🤩😇

Campaign against living miserably is a wonderful charity which does amazing work around tackling the stigma of mental health and helping prevent suicide.

As a mental health nurse I understand the importance of CALM and know that there help line has supported many patients I’ve worked with whilst they’re in crisis to take the step forward to get help!

In one point in our lives everyone of us will have or will in the future stuff with a mental health problem: mental health issues are just as common as a physical health issue but due to the stigma and the lack of support people are more reluctant to not seek support and isolate them self making the symptoms worse, ending up with thoughts they know long want to be hear.

With more support and more campaigns and education around how to manage mental health better hopefully the rate of suicide will decrease.

CALM offer Support and have an amazing helpline for anyone to use when they need.

Without fundraising they would not be able to reach out and help as many people as they do!

Can you help me reach my target of £500? Please donate anything you can spare via the link!

Thank you very much for your support and I hope to do everyone proud by completing this marathon for CALM, my family and patients 🥰
