Story
Im taking part in the Sunrise Trek 2021 to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK. Theyre the UK's leading bowel cancer charity and are determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with over 16,000 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable. Im determined to help Bowel Cancer UK to change that. The money you donate will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, enable them to fund and support research into bowel cancer and to campaign for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.
Chris received the diagnosis of inoperable metastatic colorectal cancer in August 2020. He died in September 2020 just before his 37th birthday surrounded by his loving family.
Chris was in my year at school, although as he was an S bander I didn't get to know him straight away, not until he got together with one of my closest friends Kat in the 6th form. Together they have two gorgeous children. He was such a lovely man, kind, thoughtful, bloody clever and brilliant at sport. He would never boast about any of his achievements, just quietly carry on doing what he enjoyed.
Thank you so much for your support and donation in Chris' name.
