Support my big walk for Nacoa!

Big Nacoa Walk 2023 - White Peak Challenge · 29 April 2023 ·
On the 29th April, I will be completing the Big Nacoa Walk 2023! I'll be trekking 33km (21 miles) among some incredible people to support children of alcoholics. This is a hilly one in the Peak District with 400m of ascent - we will be hiking for 10 hours!
Every child has the right to a happy childhood and to live a creative and meaningful life. In our current culture, shame and stigma make it very difficult to address alcoholism at home and when drink is the family secret, children are more likely to experience neglect, violence, and become ill with addiction themselves. Nacoa understand the nuance of this experience and can help. Opening this conversation and breaking cycles is not just important, but life-changing.
Nacoa (The National Association for Children of Alcoholics) is a Bristol based charity founded in 1990 to provide help and support for everyone affected by a parent's drinking. Nacoa provide a helpline for children immediately affected, as well as campaigning, advocacy and community for anyone whose life has been impacted by alcoholism.
I found Nacoa about a year ago and am so excited to be able to walk with them in this challenge. I got a last minute place so I have some training to do - any support would be massively appreciated! If you can't donate, please feel free to share and have a little look into the work Nacoa do. Keep an open eye, ear, mind and arm out for each other. Thank you and lots of love! Wish me luck! x
