Story
I will be taking on the challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro in 2021, to support the Meningitis Research Foundation. Their work is providing better access to vaccines, health systems that can diagnose and treat children, and support to survivors of meningitis. With them I am aiming to raise awareness of two serious diseases, Meningitis and Septicaemia, which are the second biggest infectious killers of children under the age of five on the planet.
These kill more children than Malaria, Measles, Tetanus and AIDS combined.
Before discovering the Meningitis Research Foundation, I didn't have any idea of this, of the scale that Meningitis and Septicaemia kills and the widespread impact it has, so I am now proud to be supporting the charity in its amazing goal:
To defeat Meningitis by 2030.
This is one of the most amazing, challenging and pioneering global health goals I've come across, so I hope you will join me in feeling proud to have contributed to such an amazing global effort.
