Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It’s been a while since I’ve done any fundraising. Over the past year or so I have started running with MileShy where I took part in the c25k programme to get me back into it. Since then I’ve made some great friends and I run multiple times a week. I’ve taken part in numerous 10k events and was part of a great team to run the Manchester Marathon in April 2023 in a relay team when I ran 11k. I was persuaded to enter the Manchester Half Marathon in October this year. This is a big challenge for me as I never thought I’d be able to run any further than 10k. A half marathon is more than double that at 21k!
So, because it’s a challenge I wanted to raise some money for a great charity. I have chosen Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation because one of my best friends is hosting a fundraiser on behalf of this charity in memory of her Dad, Bryan Woodward. The family fun day is on 10th September 2023 at Urmston Sports Club and I’m hoping to be able to add a little something to the funds raised on that day. Bryan was a funny, kind, generous man who would do anything for anyone especially his family and friends and he is very much missed. So if you would like to donate with any amount it would be hugely appreciated. To read about how the Foundation uses money raised visit their website at roycastle.org.
And as part of my training I’ve entered “Defeat Delamere” 10k trail run on 17th September which is an event set up by Roy Castle Lung Foundation, so it’s all systems go ready for October! 💪🏻 🏃🏻♀️
Thanks for reading, I’ll let you know how I get on!
