It helps children who are suffering from leukaemia and cancer. It also helps members of the family who are in need, hardship or distress while supporting such children.

Story

The Emily Ash Trust is a small charity with a big heart who help children and young people who are suffering with cancer as well as their families.  We are all volunteers so all monies raised go towards helping our families.

I have been part of the Emily Ash Trust team for over 10 years now.  The scale of the help we offer has no ends, we consider all requests which can be very varied indeed and equally with our close contact to families we often approach them with an offer of help.  Our support can range from a small thoughtful pick you up gift to bring a smile, an Ipad for a child to keep in contact with friends and family whilst in hospital/isolation or a much needed holiday break.  We also have a close relationship with CLIC Sargent who approach us regularly with requests/help for families they are supporting.

One of the benefits of being a small charity is that our Trustees can make a prompt decision to requests and we can spring into action straightaway.   Our support continues through treatment, recovery or those terrible time of sadness and loss.

Over the past year with fundraising events cancelled due to the virus pandemic EAT is struggling to meet the demand from families that really need help and support.  Unfortunately, childhood cancer does not stop and observe lockdown.   So the Emily Ash Trust launched A fEAT for EAT last year to ask their supporters to dig deep and think about what they might do to personally help.

We were due to run the Vitality Big Half Marathon on the 25th April 2021 but this event has now been cancelled until 20th August 2021. So we have decided to take on the challenge of the fEAT for EAT and  continue with our half marathon on the 25th April 2021.  We have all had injuries and personal difficulties to deal with but to date our training is going well.  One for all and all for one we will complete our challenge supporting each other and hopefully running the full 13.2 miles but if for whatever reason that is not to be then we will walk it together!!

Wendy, Jane, Alison and I would like to thank you for taking time to visit our page.

If you would like to sponsor us we would be most grateful for any amount you can spare and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your kind support/donation.
