When I was seven my mother passed away from breast cancer, she was a very strong minded woman who wanted to see her two girls grow up. She fought hard against the cancer that ended up killing her.

I am very proud of her.

The charity that she supported was CANCERactive. It offers support and advice to people affected by cancer. That is why both my father and I are avid supporters.

On the 24th of March 2012 I shaved my hair off in memory of her rasing over £6000. You can learn more about what I did on my other JustGiving page- https://www.justgiving.com/Emily-Materek.

But I want to do so much more, £6000 is a lot, but not enough. So I want to do as much as I can to raise as much money and awareness as possible, because the more money and awareness CANCERactive get, the more lives can be saved.

I have already got some ideas of what I would like to do in the future, but any suggestions would be appreciated greatly.
