Story
As 18-24 May 2020 is Mental Health Awareness Week, I thought it was only right to begin my fundraising and start raising money for the charity Mind.
Mind is a mental health charity in England and Wales. Founded in 1946 as the National Association for Mental Health (NAMH), it celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2016. Mind offers information and advice to people with mental health problems and lobbies government and local authorities on their behalf. It also works to raise public awareness and understanding of issues relating to mental health.
Since isolation and quarantine began it has become evident to me of the importance of mental health and talking to others. I feel now is the best time, more than ever, to raise money for a charity I am so deeply passionate about. Mental health itself is so important to me, I myself have used mental health facilities and therapy in the past and I am so grateful for the people who contribute to saving lives daily.
Since turning twenty years old and being isolated within the four walls of my house, I am motivated to raise money for charity and donate to those in need as well as ticking another item off my bucket list and this gives me the perfect motivation to do so. If this money could contribute to helping even just one person then I have done something I can be proud of.
I understand money is tight at the moment but I'd also like to state that every single penny, no matter how big or how small, will add up in the long haul and it all goes directly to the charity.
If you have stumbled across this page and were thinking about donating even a pound or two, this could go a long way if we're able to share this page and get other people behind this great cause.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you have donated, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
