Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and I really hope that you will help us to raise as much money as we can for Help for Heroes...

We did it!!! and we didn't fall off or embarrass ourselves too much at all!

Both Tom and Bob were complete gentlemen and looked after us on what has to have been the hottest day of the year so far! Our ride around Ascot and Windor Great Park really was brilliant and we met amazing people on our way... There were horses and ponies of every colour, shape and size and one amazing lady had even ridden all the way up from Somerset to raise money for Help for Heroes...

We cannot begin to thank you enough for your kind donation towards such an amazing charity which is so close to our hearts... it has been humbling to be a (small) part of such an amazing fundraising campaign!

Here's to the next challenge... watch this space!!!!!!!

Thank you again....

Masses of love from us both

June 2010......

On July 10th mum and I are taking part in the Horses for Heroes sponsored ride.  This will be the largest sponsored ride ever held with 2010 horses taking part.  It will be approximately 5 miles long, starting from Ascot racecourse, going to the Jubilee Statue in Windsor Great Park, and culminating in a very special ride around the track and past the finishing post at Ascot racecourse, hopefully still on board!

We are imensley proud to be able to take part in the ride and to raise funds for the fantastic charity Help for Heroes through our joint love of riding!    It has however meant that both of us, who havent riden properly for quite a few years (the children scuppered that one!), have had to drag horses out of retirement (should be interesting as Bob still thinks he's a 4 year old at 18!) and also find breeches that we can still squeezd into!  No mean feat for the latter!  Please take time to visit the Help for Heroes site at www.helpforheroes.org.uk as I can't even begin to explain all the amazing help and support that they provide for our wounded soldiers returning from the front line.

To quote Prince William earlier this month:  “Very occasionally – perhaps once or twice in a generation – something or someone pops up to change the entire landscape. Help 4 Heroes, under the magnificent and brilliantly quirky leadership of the mad cartoonist, Bryn, and his equally inspirational wife, Emma, is one such phenomenon.  What it has achieved here at Headley Court is, in truth, but the tip of the iceberg.  Help for Heroes has galvanised the entire British people.  Always supportive of its men and women in uniform, this Country has been elevated by Help for Heroes to a state of realisation and proactive support for our military that has made me, personally, very, very proud to be British, and a member of our Armed Forces.”
