Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So why on earth am I running a marathon when I am not a fan of running? My brother-in-law (Chris) was involved in a major car accident back in Feb 2016 which hospitalised him for 6 months due to multiple injuries, broken bones and damage to his spinal cord. As you can imagine this was a really tough time for my sister and both families. Luckily it was made a lot easier with the amazing care of the NHS staff and the support of the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA).

Since the accident Chris has made a great recovery but still suffers with some of life's day to day activities but he sure as hell has not let that stop him. He continues to rock climb, cycle and be a inspiring and fun Dad to 3 young children (including 4 year old twins!). He also did some great work with the SIA to support other that are going through what he went through! I honestly cannot tell you how proud of him I am.

I want to make sure that other families that are going through the same thing continue to have the support of the SIA.

Those of you that know me will probably be assuming that because I am really into my fitness that this is going to be a breeze! I can assure you that it is not. Running is not something that comes easy to me and the max mileage I can run as I begin this journey is 3 miles! So I can assure you this is going to be one big mental and physical challenge.

Any donations will be a great support, even if it is as little as a £1. Every donation is hugely appreciated.
