Emma's Try a Tri for Nordoff Robbins · 12 May 2019

Nordoff and Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice. Through the power of music, it breaks through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation. The charity does this through providing music therapy to people across the UK, whilst also training the music therapists of the future and funding research to measure and improve the impact of its work.

Story

On 12th May I have signed myself up to Try a Tri.

I do exercise but putting running, swimming and cycling
together in one event isn't something I have ever done before especially, as I didn't even get my cycling proficiency and the only bike I've been on for 8 years has been stationary in a studio!!!
Oh, and I have borrowed a road bike which I still haven't been on and I'm writing this on the 17th March!!

However, I want to do this for an amazing charity which
gives so much happiness to people through music therapy. Music can really enrich your life, particularly for children that have life-threatening
illnesses and complex learning needs

I will be taking part in the triathlon alongside a team of
amazing women, all of them connected to Monkey Music in some way whose charity partner is Nordoff Robbins. Every Wednesday I go to Monkey music with my son, which he loves and the other reason I ask you to dig deep is these people and my son are kind enough to have their ears tormented with my dreadful singing :)

Please click on the team page below for more info! As a team
we aim to raise £15,000 for Nordoff Robbins. I would be so grateful for any sponsorship, just £1 will make a difference.

- £5 will provide a tool for a non verbal child to be able
to express themselves beyond words through something as simple as drumsticks

- £50 will pay for a child suffering from cancer to attend a
music therapy session

- £250 will pay for a full day of music therapy in a
dedicated centre

I’d really love for my part in the fundraising to provide 2 full days of music therapy in a dedicated centre.

Thank you for taking time to read my page and please if you
can spare a couple of quid pop it on my page.

Thank you so much

Emma
