Story

Hi everyone if you know me you know I am a passionate supporter of the wonderful Finding Furever Homes and so here I am taking on another personal challenge to help raise money for them , specifically Lulu's Legacy. I suffer with fibromyalgia and  its very difficult to even get out of bed in the morning let alone the cold ones that will be coming up but throughout the month of November I am challenging myself to walk a total of 150 miles. As a fibrofighter every step I take is precious to me, some of you may know what I mean, but I am more than willing to offer these steps to this fantastic cause that will help so many dogs with different story's to tell. I would be so so grateful if you can spare a few pennies to help spur me on and help dogs needing expensive treatments like Louis and Logan, thank you x

 Here's a little more about Lulu's Legacy

In April 2015 we were contacted and asked if we could help a dog who was in the Pound and who had had no rescue offers. One look at her face and we were hooked and Squidgy Chops joined us soon after - she was named Lulu and stole so many hearts. As a result of us offering to take Lulu in, we met new people who have become regular, committed volunteers with our Charity, even a new Trustee, and Lulu was given a further chance of happiness with a lovely family.

People are not always aware that certain rescues will have specific criteria regarding the dogs they will and will NOT take in. Dogs who might have a medical condition or are injured and need attention - dogs who are a bit older and might be harder to rehome - dogs who might be "long stayers" for whatever reason and block a kennel or dogs who need training and behavioural support - if they need too much time, money or attention, they will not be on the top of certain rescues "to take" lists. We believe every dog deserves a chance.

As well as Lulu we have had dogs like Ted - another one left to say his prayers in the pound - a whirlwind skinny lurcher with no lead manners and Queen Anne legs, who would possibly want him? We said yes. He now has the most charmed life with a family who adore him.

Dogs like Evie, like Pip & Blue, a bonded pair in their twilight years ... every dog deserves a chance!

Most recently we had a call about a young dog, only 1 year old, with the immortal words "Can you help?" You see the pup has a heart condition that will need funding - just a baby - but as others have "medical assessments" that any dogs have to pass, his options would have been limited. So he's joining us today and will be the first to benefit, we hope, from Lulu's Legacy. We shall name him Louis, in her honour. His brother Logan will also need expensive surgery, we shall help him too. Someone has to, otherwise rescue is not rescue is it?

Please help us to continue to help them when they have so few choices?

About the campaign

About the charity

FFH was set up to help dogs in need. We work hard to rescue & rehome stray & abandoned dogs, we support some smaller rescues in the UK - and generally try to make a difference, one dog at a time, wherever help is needed! We always need volunteers AND funds if you can help?
