Story

Monster The Loch, Loch Ness, Rowing 22.7miles in aid of Mind, the mental health charity.

Saturday, September 28th, 2019

In this, my 50th year, I have taken on the challenge of rowing the length of Loch Ness, some 22.7 miles.

With my crew mates, Conrad Wells, Fiona (Flo) Land, Bradley Bryant, and our brave cox, 16 year old Ella Simms, we will be taking part in a race called ‘Monster The Loch’, now in its second year.

I will be rowing in memory of Juan Coto who would have also turned 50 this year. Juan was dedicated to helping people reach their full potential in sport and overcome their self-limiting beliefs, so this challenge seems like an appropriate way of remembering him.

Juan lost his life to depression in 2016, so I will be raising money for the excellent mental health charity ‘Mind’ in his memory, in the hope that we can help prevent similar tragedies.

Please give what you can, no matter how small. It is a very worthy cause.

Thank you and wish us luck!
