This is a charity close to my heart. My Dad had 2 serious stokes and sadly the 2nd one killed him in 2005. He had to wait over 24 hours before he saw someone (as there was no specialist unit at our local hospital) after his first stroke by then in was too late. 

He needed 24 hour care for 5 years until a 2nd stoke took him. This has a massive impact on families and the support available to us was very little. 

In the last 10 years we have come some way in helping those affected by strokes but buy supporting the stroke association imagine where we could be in another 10.
