Story
Daisy has recently been diagnosed with a rare degenerative genetic disease called Stargardts. This disease affects the light receptive and 'detailed' part of her vision. It will get progressively worse over time and will eventually lead to central vision loss.
Daisy is now registered visually impaired.
Daisy is dealing with this diagnosis like a complete star, even though its a struggle for her to do some of the things she was able to do 12 months ago - Things that we take for granted like being able to read a book or sit down to watch the T.V. Daisy is also unable to recognise faces which is something her and her family have found especially difficult to come to terms with.
Currently, there is no treatment or cure to help or reverse this horrible disease and to be honest, most people have never even heard of it. There is plenty of research going on around the world but without the funding, this is limited.
We want to try and raise awareness for Stargardts as well as money to help fund the vital research that could one day lead to Daisy and others dealing with vision loss, get their sight back!
Daisy does not want to be treated any differently from her friends, she is a popular, funny, kind and gentle girl but is also dealing with all of this before even turning into a teen.
Daisys family and friends are her support network but unfortunately we can't do this on our own, we need your help.
Teamed with a charity called 'Fight for sight' We will be doing plenty of fundraisers in the future- any fundraising we do will go directly to Stargardts research.
This just the beginning. So please follow this page and support us in What ever way you can!
Thank you xx
