Great North Run 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·

Story

As many of you may be aware, Rich was accepted into the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team earlier this year and has already undertaken a huge amount of training and plays an active part in event support as a trainee member of the team.

In a bid to raise funds and awareness and to give something back to the the team who are investing so much of their free time to train him, Rich volunteered to take part in the Great North Run on Sunday 12th September 2021.

The team offered the opportunity for Emma to sign up too - something else to be ticked off the bucket list!

The NNPMRT consists solely of volunteers who give up their time and make themselves available to provide this vital service which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Neither of us have ever done a half marathon before, the most we’ve done was 6.2 miles around the Cragside 10k many years ago and that was hard work - We aren’t nearly as young and fit as we were then!

Please, if you feel you are able to give us some encouragement whilst supporting the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team with a donation it would be hugely appreciated and put to very good use. A share to spread awareness would be just as fantastic whether you are able to donate or not.
