Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you all no I am completely and utterly mad anyway, as having four children and one big one isn't enough and before I try for another one next year, I thought I'll enter two marathons!
It all kicks off on 18th April 2010 with a 26.2 mile run through Brighton , it be quite challenging if it's a windy day as the second half of the course is along the sea front and the finish line by the pier. Then on the 15th May I'm doing the "walk the walk" which is a 26.2 mile walk this time through the roads of London at night wearing just my bra!!
As a young girl I use to watch the London marathon every year on TV and really admired the brave, insane people that entered!! I always hoped that one year I would get enough courage and be insane enough to enter, so before I reach that big 40 in a few years I thought "go for it girl".
I decided to raise vital funds for Breakthrough breast cancer,. I have been touched by a few stories from my friends recently concerning their close friends. We have to remember it's not just women that breast cancer affects. So if I can just ask you all to "LOVE YOUR BOOBS OR LET YOUR PARTNER DO THE LOVING!"
I would like to say a BIG Thank you to all my family, friends, mum's from school and the gym, for all your words of support., It really does help when the pain kicks in when your out training.
What really helps me the most is just the thought of my little boys shouting me on through the finishing line, it gives me goose bumps just thinking about it know....
Please, please support me and my well deserved charity and tell your friends, work colleagues and family to log on to my page and help support "BREAKTHROUGH BREAST CANCER".
January 12th update= For the last 4 weeks been unable to train outside due to the snow, but don't worry that hasn't stopped me from training those legs!! I've been pounding the treadmill at home and down the gym. From the 18th my little one will be in the creche gym for three days a week so I can step up my training, even on his Birthday, I,ve only got 13 weeks left till the big day.......
April 19th; I made it to the finish. My time was 5hrs 11min, wanted to finish under 5hrs. But my first marathon and had never run until 7 months ago, so i wont bet myself up too much...My legs felt as heavy as concrete near the end and still do today! No time to recover, as I have the moon walk to train for in 4 weeks time.....
