My name is Emma, I am a senior health care assistant for Marie Curie Cancer care, I have decided to take on the challange of trekking across the Sahara desert to raise awareness and money for this incredible Charity.

A little about Marie Curie......

Cancer is the UK's biggest killer, every year it claims the lives of more than 150,000 people, with a further one million living with the disease at any one time. It touches 1 in 3 of our lives!

Marie Curie Cancer Care is working tirelessly for people with cancer and other terminal illnesses, and their families by challanging the disease through its work in cancer care.

In the community the Marie Curie service gives terminally ill people the choice to be cared for/ pass away at home, supported by their families.

Every year the charity provides care to around 25,000 cancer patients and their families entirely free of charge.

I get to witness on a first hand basis what a difference this service provides, the job can be very a difficult one but is so rewarding knowing you have helped people and their families at one the most difficult times in their lives.
