As everyone knows, 2 years and 5 months ago our world was turned upside down with the shocking news that Ellie had a huge nasty tumour growing inside her brain. Surgery to remove it was successful and even a stroke couldn't hold Ellie back. Fast forward to the present day and Ellie has learnt to walk, talk, be left handed, and amaze not only the many specialists involved in her care but all of us who love and care for her. This summer Ellie managed to take all her GCSE Exams, just like her friends and is tentatively awaiting her results to see if she will accept her offered place in sixth form for a-levels or the college place to undertake a level 3 course in childcare. This girl blows my mind! 

None of this would have been possible without the continued support of the nurses and specialists on ward E40 where Ellie has spent many months during her recovery. Children and their families often spend weeks and months on the ward and whilst there is an epic play room, play specialists and school to keep them occupied, sadly so many are confined to their beds while they recover from brain surgery or treatment. We would love to raise enough money to buy equipment for some of the teenagers and older children to make their stay a little less difficult and so we are BOTH abseiling 100ft down the side of the QMC. We are both scared of heights but want to do this as we know how difficult it is to be in hospital.
