12 hour Litter Pick from Woodside Lake to Concord Beach · 30 May 2021

South Essex Wildlife Hospital rescues over 9,000 sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals every year. We are a registered veterinary practice open 24/7 365 days a year. We provide support and advice to the community about all aspects of helping wildlife.

Story

I am a Litter Hero Ambassador for Keep Britain Tidy and founder of the litter picking group Castle Point Clean Up Crew.  For the Great British Spring Clean this year, I wanted to do something different and set a challenge for myself whilst picking up litter and helping our local wildlife.

I decided to set myself the challenge of litter picking for 12 hours - from 8am to 8pm on Sunday 30th May, starting at Woodside Lake in New Thundersley and finishing at Concord Beach on Canvey Island, with different stops along the way, all the while litter picking.  I have some lovely friends who will be accompanying me on the route, which will be over 10 miles (including the scheduled litter picking at key litter hotspots along the way).

I hope that you can support this worthy cause - what better way to help wildlife than by picking up the litter that could potentially cause harm and raising money for a great charity that helps sick and injured wildlife in Essex.
