When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our Spin for Stroke Challenge means it's never been easier for you to support us to rebuild lives.

Story

19 years ago my Nanny had a massive stroke with very little chance of survival. Against the odds she survived leaving her with limited mobility and no speech, my Granda became her carer and cared for her lovingly and without complaint up until his unexpected and sudden death on 9th April 2022, unfortunately my Nanny's health deteriorated very soon after and she passed away 16th May 2022.

My Granda was a scientist at heart and loved all things sport, so in memory of them both, I plan on undertaking a 170 mile cycle route around Northumberland over 2 days at the end of August, raising money towards research and for those affected by strokes.
