For the past 25 years, the JoLt Trust has taken countless disadvantaged, ill and disabled teenagers on journeys of a lifetime. During these month-long expeditions to remote places like Alaska and the Andes they learn confidence, trust, respect, self-worth and teamwork.

Story

On Saturday 14 July 2012, 22 youngsters and 8 leaders will fly from Heathrow to Lima to start a month-long Journey of a Lifetime across South America from the Pacific to the Atlantic coast.

Some of the youngsters are sight- or hearing-impaired, several are wheelchair users, others have suffered serious illness, or been victims of abuse or human trafficking. They will travel by road, rail, raft and even horse-back, and all will be expected to support each other on a trip that none of them could have undertaken alone.

JoLt is an inspiring charity that makes a positive difference to the lives of many young disadvantaged and disabled people. My dad Clive was a leader on JoLt expeditions from 1984-1990, taking groups of youngsters on challenging month-long journeys across Russia, China, Australia, Canada and South America.

When my dad died, I was asked to join the Board of Trustees and I'm delighted to continue supporting JoLt's activities so that many more young people can change their lives for the better.

Thank you for visiting my page. Please give generously and help me to continue the great work done by my dad, Dorothy Dalton and all the JoLt team members.
