Great North Run Solo Challenge 2020 · 28 June 2020

Caring Matters Now is the only UK charity supporting children and adults affected by Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN) - a genetic condition, consisting of dark brown hairy birthmarks covering up to 80% of the body. The condition has many expressions, some of which can lead to medical complexities

Story

My daughter, Ava, was born with CMN syndrome (Congenital Melanocytic Nevus Syndrome).  CMN is a birthmark covering up to 80% of the body and can grow on the brain and spine which is fatal. Caring Matters Now is a charity that not only supports families of those affected by CMN but the money it raises contributes to the vital research much needed at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Those who know me well will know I recently started running. The Great North Run Solo Challenge is to run 40 days out of 78. So, from 28th June until 13th September I need to do 40 runs of any distance. Another challenge is the number of total miles I run!

Please support me. This charity has provided lots of support to our family and means so much to me.
