Riley and Islas bike ride

Riley and Isla bike ride · 28 June 2020
In April 2018 Riley and Isla’s Auntie Gemma was sadly diagnosed with Cancer, after 6 weeks of gruelling Radiotherapy and year of aftercare Gemma looked like she had beaten this horrible disease.
Sadly in August 2019 their Auntie Gem was diagnosed with secondary cancer and underwent a 10 hour operation to try and repair her spine as this is where the cancer had taken hold. The end of 2019 involved a lot of treatments and scans.
Fast forward to February 2020 and Riley and Isla’s Auntie was given just months to live, her cancer was too aggressive to be treated, as her cancer got worse Gemma was moved to the Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds.
Upon being admitted to the Hospice on April 13th Gemma was given the terrible news that she had approximately 7 days to live. 3 weeks on Gemma is still battling her cancer and fortunately Riley and Isla have had the opportunity to visit their beloved Auntie Gemma one last time to say their goodbyes, aged just 10 and 7 this was absolutely devastating for them, they were having to say goodbye to someone extremely special to them, someone whom for as long as they could remember had shared their birthdays and Christmas’ with them, someone whom every time she saw them made them laugh.
Off their own backs Riley and Isla said that they want to raise some money for the Sue Ryder charity because they have looked after their Auntie Gemma so well. They even arranged for her to get married within 4 days of her being admitted to the hospice.
Riley and Isla have decided that the best way they can do this is by doing a sponsored bike ride. This will be around Flamborough, North Landing and Bempton which is around 12 miles, and that’s quite a long way for little legs !!
They are planning to do the ride on the 28th of June, so please help them raise as much as possible for the amazing Sue Ryder Charity. Thank you.
