Story

Hello

2013 has turned into a year of many challenges and it's only just started

I've started a blog of my training, so have a read!

http://emmarossruns.wordpress.com/

At the end of 2012 I did a 5km Santa run in Greenwich with 3 of my lovely friends - one in particular has parents who both have rheumatoid arthritis - after discovering exactly what I do for a job, she decided that we should do our next run for the research fund that helps support so much of the work that goes on within the Rheumatology department at UCL.

So here I am! I'm running some of the races by myself and others as part of a team with various friends

Already in the calendar for this year are........

March 24 Oakley 20 - a 20mile run with a free hoodie at the end!

April 13 Energiser Night Run - 10km around Battersea in the dark - use head torches to see the way!

April 21 Virgin London Marathon – 26.2 mile run (the 0.2 makes all the difference)

May 5 Mad Monk – 6 mile muddy obstacle course (including a river swim)

June 8 Tough Mudder – 12/13 mile obstacle course (Google it! We have had to take out special insurance – there’s water and electricity involved)

Sept 21 Beauty and the Beast - 13.1 mile trail run - Beauty = countryside, Beast = up and down hills in countryside.....

Prof – please note - I’m not going skiing in 2013 in an attempt to minimise the risk of me injuring myself (again) and complete these challenges

Any money you could find, maybe down the back of the sofa? will be so gratefully received by myself and the research fund, you’d be more than welcome to come and look at where your donations will end up

Thanking you in advance

Emma x
