Emma's Marathon page

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
I know it says at the top of the page 2021 but I promise I am doing it this year, just giving just won’t let me change it! 🤦🏻♀️
As some people are aware, in July 2017 I took 65 pupils to Peru on a school trip. Little did I know, that my appendix was going to explode and various other ailments was going to happen across the next 5 weeks. Some of the injuries included peritonitis, liver abscess, collapsed lungs due to pneumonia (leading to the loss of half a lung), septicaemia, and DVT. One of the by products of all of this was that I became epileptic.
As anyone who knows me, I make a laugh and a joke out of my various ailments and my epilepsy but it is about time that I take it seriously. It is a life changing disability, in some regards, and it is about time that I gave back to help others in the same situation.
So next year, I will be running the London Marathon in support of Epilepsy Action with the aim of raising as much money as possible. Since Peru, it has taken a while to be back to being me and this training so far has really helped me become the “old” Em again. I want to raise as much money to help everyone and anyone as much as possible.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
